As Roger Federer cruises into the 12th Wimbledon finals in the 2019 edition, he offers his words of wisdom to the Romanian pride of tennis, Simona Halep who will play her first ever finals at the world’s most prestigious tennis tournament, Wimbledon. Also, she considers Federer to be her role model.

As Halep will be facing the ultimate champion of women’s game, Serena Williams, Roger Federer advised the Romanian to wear a winner’s mindset and he said, “try to win it. You need to have winners mentality. It’s not like I’m happy to be in the finals, and it’s Serena and there’s no chance. With this, you are going to lose for sure.”

“You have to have that winner’s mentality, that I belong here, I have earned my way here and I’ll be playing great. You just can’t play average at Wimbledon finals, some people might do that. But normally, you feel the ball well and she needs to back herself and enjoy it also, but that comes after when you win,” Roger Federer continued.

Halep was last year’s French Open champion and with that victory experience, the seventh seed could make a difference in her final match against Serena. “It’s full of concentration. The good thing is, she has won a Slam before and she knows how to do it,” Federer added.

En route to the finals, Halep dispatched Mihaela Buzarnescu, Victoria Azarenka, Cori Coco Gauff, Zhang Shuai and Elina Svitolina and she just dropped a set in the tournament so far which was in the opening round of Wimbledon Championships 2019.
