World Number three, Roger Federer is pleased with Rafael Nadal’s presence at the Laver Cup 2019, in Geneva, Switzerland. Considering Rafa’s tour this season, it has been phenomenal, but simultaneously it has also been exhaustive. In spite of skipping Laver Cup and recovering from his fatigue, Rafa chose to play with his friend, Roger in his event.
“He (Nadal) couldn’t be more pumped up for this event. He just won the US Open. It would have been so easy for him to say, I need a break, but he said no, my break is coming afterward. I’m doing all this because I really believe in the concept of Laver Cup, I believe in you guys and it’s nice to have a friend like that,” Roger Federer said.

In all the tournaments where he participated (excluding Acapulco), Nadal has reached the last four stages of the tournament and he has played numerous matches this year. Eventually after winning the US Open 2019 title, the Spaniard needs to take a break from tennis, but instead, he decides to hit the tennis courts with his European team-mates.
World Number two, Nadal played a crushing final at Flushing Meadows, however, the Laver Cup event was on his priority list even before the US Open and he is excited to share the court with the Swiss legend.

“When you finish a game like that you have to recover by taking all the steps necessary to make sure you get better at it. It’s too early to work out the plan because after the final I didn’t have the chance to discuss the various issues with my team. I’ll have to see how my body will respond, but surely the Laver Cup is circled in red on my calendar,” Rafael Nadal said.
