Roger Federer: “I was Intimidated by Girls”

20-time grand slam champion, Roger Federer who is seeking his 9th Wimbledon Championships title at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC) revealed in an interview that he was intimidated by girls, earlier in his career. He also talked about how Mirka brought some luck into his life.

Roger Federer is certainly one of the most famous sports personalities in the world. He has always been the center of attraction on and off the court. However, the Swiss recalled that he used to get frightened by the attention that he used to get but he learned to manage it gradually.

Roger Federer said in a statement, “I remembered that I really cared about everything that people said about me. I was a very shy boy, I was intimidated by girls and being the center of attention. I learned to manage it quickly.”

Roger Federer also revealed that he was lucky to have Mirka in his life as she helped him all through his life. He further continued, “The great fortune in my life was falling in love with Mirka. She has helped me a lot at all times, just like my parents and my friends.”

Roger Federer also suggested that he was lucky to not have many injuries in his career but he feels that Mirka was the biggest luck of his life. He said, “Not having had physical problems was decisive for my development, but my biggest luck in life has been to meet my wife, Mirka. I emphasize the support of my wife.”

Roger Federer married to Miroslava Federer aka Mirka on 11 April 2009, in Riehen near Basel. However, the two met while they were competing for Switzerland at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Mirka is a former Women’s Tennis Association player. She was eventually forced to retire from tennis in 2002 because of a foot injury.
