Roger Federer Impresses Sachin Tendulkar With His Batting Skills

Roger Federer and Sachin Tendulkar are both legends in their respective domains. More than records, they’ve won hearts more than possibly anyone in their sport. Tendulkar seemed to be heavily impressed with Federer’s cricket skills after the Swiss was seen mimicking the forward defense during his victory over Adrian Mannarino.

Here is a glimpse of his stylish shot, as posted by Wimbledon’s twitter account:

Tendulkar, being a masterclass of forward defense and perhaps the greatest batsman of the modern era, invited Roger Federer to exchange some notes as a part of some friendly banter. This is what he had to say:

The two seemed to have good mutual respect for each other and met each other at the starting of 2011 post Federer’s third round match in Wimbledon. Tendulkar, who is a regular visitor to Wimbledon, spent an hour chatting with Federer. Both of them posted about the same on their respective social media accounts:

Spent an hour with Roger Federer chatting on the balcony of Wimbledon Royal box. What a humble guy! And by the way he knows a lot about cricket!!,” Tendulkar posted on his Twitter account.

“Today was a special day, played a good match and had the chance to catch up with the great indian cricket star Sachin Tendulkar,” read a caption on the Federer’s Facebook account post his meeting in 2011.

Roger Federer will now be playing against Kevin Anderson in the quarterfinal of the Wimbledon in what will be his 9th Wimbeldon title if he goes on to win it. Being the defending champion, he is the favorite the clinch the title and claim his 21st Grand Slam. But it won’t be easy for him, since the likes of Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Juan Martin del Potro still remain in the tournament.
