Swiss maestro Roger Federer has been playing tennis for a very long time now. During that time, we have seen him win many titles and we have also gotten to know him very well. That being said, there are things we’ve heard about him that are not true according to his former coaches. Check it out.
Roger Federer Is a Lot Funnier

Tennis Channel has been hosting a show called ‘Coaching In the Bigs’ with Paul Annacone. As every tennis fan knows, Annacone coached Roger Federer from 2010-13. Paul decided to call Severin Luthi, who is Roger’s current coach, on the show.

Luthi has been working with Roger since 2007. That is a long time, which is why he probably knows him best. Hence, Annacone decided to ask him what is the one thing people don’t know about Roger. He replied by saying,

“It’s tough, I mean there are a lot of things you could say. He is a lot funnier than people think so that’s probably one thing. People always think of him as a great tennis player but he is also very funny.”
I think we have to disagree with Severin here as we have seen Roger’s humorous side many times, like in the video above. Here, he was talking to Jim Courier during an interview when he was asked if he had any tips for the fans. He jokingly replied, “I don’t train, it’s all talent.“

This statement is not entirely a joke as he is obviously very talented which is why he has won so many Grand Slams throughout his career. He still wants to win more which is why he is still playing even though he is almost 38.
He is waiting for the next opportunity to win some more, but sadly, it won’t come for a while due to the coronavirus pandemic. Hopefully, once we contain the virus, he can add to his large collection of Grand Slams.
