We recently published an article on the April Fool’s day with the prank that our beloved tennis star Roger Federer had announced his retirement from professional tennis. While most of our readers understood the spirit of the article and reacted in the same vein, there was a section that wasn’t happy with the topic of our choosing.
We just want to clarify that this was nothing but an attempt to lighten the mood at a time when we are hearing more and more negative news when it comes to tennis. Roger Federer is still very much in the game with the maestro announcing that he is all set to put on his tennis gear in 2021 as well.
The Swiss tennis icon is one of the greatest athletes to step foot on the court. With 20 grand slams under the belt, he continues to perform amazingly at the age of 38. In fact, he put up some amazing performances at the Australian Open with thrilling victories in marathon matches against John Millman and Tennis Sandgren. There is truly no doubt that he still has a lot of fuel left in the tank and his retirement is still something which doesn’t require a proper discussion as of yet.
With that being said, we sincerely hope that the Swiss icon continues to mesmerize us with his art for the years to come. In fact, as soon as the tennis season resumes, we are as excited as everyone to witness Roger Federer making his much-awaited return from injury. His recent videos indicate that we might see him in action as soon as the pandemic ends.
We regret any confusion that might have been caused as a result of our article.
