Roger Federer also spoke about his dream season that unfolded in 2017, despite many people doubting it.
“Clearly, I started the season with the desire to be healthy, to be playing tennis again and, after four or five tournaments, to feel myself being back”, he said.

“All this happened so fast, I managed to win in Australia where I had tried to do it for five years before getting injured”, recalled Federer. “It’s funny that it happened after a surgery and after the difficult time of last year”, laughed Federer. “I was unbelievably happy to continue my good shape and win Indian Wells, which for me was a surprise as big as in Australia. It’s an amazing return that I did not expect”, he said.
Roger Federer is expected to feature at the Hopman Cup before he begins his Australian open campaign, alongside Belinda Bencic as they take on the pair of Serena Williams and Frances Tiafoe.
