Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal collectively decided to return to the ATP Player Council, since the other players in the council had stepped down before Wimbledon 2019 got underway. In Cincinnati Masters, Federer revealed the reasons behind his decision to rejoin the Player’s council. Also, he urged Rafa to join the council and do their part in solving the issues prevailing.

The duo couldn’t sit tight and see the on-going mismanagements as certain things were in vain. They wanted to take the initiative to set the shortcomings straight. “I spoke to Rafa and asked him, we can at least be on the council and see a little bit of what’s happening, if we can help with anything,” Federer said.

“Are there issues with communication, maybe? Because that’s what I feel is maybe lacking the most. And maybe what’s going on is correct and the correct movement, but maybe it’s completely not. I think it’s just such important times right now it would just be wrong to sit on the sidelines,”

Prior to the Wimbledon Championships 2019, Jamie Murray, Robin Haase, coach Daniel Vallverdu, and Sergiy Stakhovsky resigned from their positions at the ATP Player Council headed by Novak Djokovic. And along with the thriving pair of tennis,  Jurgen Melzer is also elected into the circuit.

Daniel Vallverdu and Jamie Murray were delighted to know about Nadal and Federer re-joining the council and they wished them luck. Few players on the circuit feel, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are like-minded and they take unanimous decisions. In a nutshell, the ATP Player Council is in good hands.

Roger Federer is presently at Western & Southern Open 2019 and Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from the same after his Rogers Cup 2019 victory in Montreal yesterday. The Spaniard decides to be in a fit form for the US Open 2019 and Rafa will be the second seed at the Flushing Meadows tournament.
