Roger Federer: “So Few People Make it on the ATP Tour”

Twenty-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer is happy that he had is turn to win titles and accomplish various sets of records during his career. The Swiss maestro also admires his achievements and suggested that he’ll keep the memories and experiences of those achievements.

During an interview, Roger Federer explained that there is still much more to come in his life. He said: “I think there is so much more to come, I don’t know how much but I hope I live a long life, a healthy life. I don’t know if you can say this but I am incredibly proud of my accomplishments.”

Roger Federer, who has claimed 102 ATP titles to date revealed that he would have been satisfied with one ATP title also when he was young as very few players make it on the ATP Tour and he feels lucky to accomplish much more than what he dreamt of.

The 38-year-old said: “I would have been happy to win one title when I was young and preferably Wimbledon but it could be any other title on the tour, an ATP title, crack it to top 100 and I think I would be alright because so few people make it on tour.”

Having a career that has lasted over two decades, Federer has achieved numerous records and milestones. Including spending a record 310 weeks as world No.1, winning 102 ATP titles as well as two Olympic medals. However, the Basel native perceives that he is the lucky one to persevere on the ATP tour for such a long time.

“I am the lucky one that maybe has persevered and made it, enjoyed it, brought a lot of happiness to other people may be as well,” Federer added.

I was able to make a foundation and all these things. So the accomplishments are beyond any dream that I have and much further in my dreams. So it’s been great.
