When it comes to the most successful player on clay courts, only one comes in everyone’s mind i.e. Rafael Nadal. He is undeniably the best player on clay. The Spaniard holds almost all the records on clay. However, there is one interesting clay-court record in which Roger Federer is way ahead of his fellow professionals, including Nadal.

The Swiss maestro has not played on clay for a substantial period of time from 2016 to 2019. However, he has already shown his clay-court prowess throughout his career. The 103-time ATP level titlist is no stranger to success on the red dirt.

The clay might be the weakest surface for Federer, nevertheless, many tennis pundits believe Roger is one of the most gifted and talented clay-courters.

We already know that Federer likes to finish off the match as quickly as possible. The Basel native does not like to play long rallies and is a first-strike player.

It is possible to wrap up the match in less than an hour on the grass and hard court. However, it is comparatively difficult to finish a match in less than 60 minutes on clay as the surface is the slowest of all. Moreover, the rallies are longer on the red-dirt.

Nevertheless, Federer has recorded 24 victories on the clay court in less than 60 minutes. He stands alone in this record with his compatriot Stan Wawrinka standing second, recording 13 victories in less than an hour.

Surprisingly, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are way down on the list with 8 and 9 wins on clay in less than 60 minutes.
