Roger Federer Wants his Family to Play More

Roger Federer has four kids, who have been seen at his matches quite often. His twin boys, who are just four years old, have already started playing tennis. Well, they do not have to worry much about coaching, considering the fact that their father is a legend in the sport. And if that was not enough Federer’s wife Mirka, has also played tennis professionally, before a foot injury forced her to retire from the sport.

Federer spoke about how he has been watching over his kids play tennis, and hopes that they get more involved in sports, now that they are growing up. “They’re only four, yes, but they’ve played for a few years now,” Federer revealed in his exclusive interview with CNN. “We roll the ball and hit it along the ground”, said Roger Federer. “The ball can bounce a bit more and they can whack it over the net sometimes.” Federer also has two daughters, Myla Rose and Charlene Riva, who are now nine years old already. Federer revealed that, the girls have also been playing tennis quite regularly.

“The girls also play a little bit,” said Roger Federer. “Actually we like them to play a bit because all the friends we have and their kiddies, they all play tennis and it would be a shame if my kids are the only ones who wouldn’t play tennis”, smiled Federer. “I want them to do sports because I think it’s a great education, it’s good to be out there and healthy”, he added on a serious note.

Federer will begin his 2019 campaign at the Hopman cup, alongside Belinda Bencic, as they take on the pair of Serena Williams and Frances Tiafoe.
