Roger Federer to Wind Up With Tennis – Pat Cash

As the 37-year-old, Roger Federer was dazed at the pre-quarters of the US Open by the World Number 37, John Millman. The Australian denied Federer the chance to avenge his loss at the Cincinnati Masters from Djokovic. In the end, he ended up losing to the Serb in the quarters at the Flushing Meadows.

Australian legend Pat Cash expressed his opinions about Federer’s performance on the court in the near future. He hints about Federer’s tennis career is coming to an end. Federer clinched the Australian Open trophy this year and happen to break his own record for Grand Slams.

Despite being invincible in the 2017 tennis season and playing some best tennis in his career the previous year, Federer’ two shattering losses in the major tournaments this year has wrenched the tennis audience worldwide and has put his fans on contemplation regarding his tour on the ATP circuit.

Federer stepped on to the US Open courts after playing just one warm-up tournament in the midwest. Also, he called off his clay court season after his early exit from the Miami Open in the month of March.

“When you don’t play all the time, you have a reduced schedule, eventually you’re going to start throwing in losses and unexplainable bad performances,” the 1987 Wimbledon champion Cash said. “And it’s not going to happen a lot. It’s just going to happen every once in a while then it’s going to happen a little bit more and then a little bit more. And then you start going ‘you know what, I either get back and play or I retire’”.

Missing quite a few major events back to back, makes Cash feel that the Swiss legend would soon make an important announcement regarding his career. In addition to that, the Swiss maestro’s factor age might be an uncertainty factor where one could have qualms about him dwelling upon the professional courts.
