The 43rd Ryder Cup is all set to begin on September 24 at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin, where Team USA will lock horns against Team Europe. The latter is the defending champion of this event and will be hopeful of retaining the trophy this time around as well. 

Meanwhile, the Ryder Cup is a prestigious event, and every player wants to be a part of the team. However, not all players make it to the team, as the squad limit for the event is 12 players. So let us have a look at the top players who have never made it to the Ryder Cup team.

Five big names who have never made it to a Ryder Cup team

Here are the Top 5 big names who have never played in the Ryder Cup so far.

1. Kevin Kisner – Kevin Kisner was a member of the 2017 Presidents Cup-winning side. The 37-year-old is also a winner of the WGC-Matchplay Championship and has earned over $25 million in his career so far. Kisner has won four times on the PGA Tour, but sadly he hasn’t been able to make it to the Ryder Cup team even once.

2. Charley Hoffman – Charley Hoffman is a golfer who is said to be the favorite for the first-round lead at the Masters. He is also one of the big earners on the PGA Tour with over $30 million. Moreover, Hoffman is also a four-time winner on the PGA Tour but hasn’t represented his country at the Ryder Cup. 

3. Gary Woodland – Woodland is one of the most prominent golfers on the PGA Tour. The four-time PGA Tour winner has also won the U.S. Open Championship. However, he is yet to feature on a Ryder Cup team which is astonishing. 

4. Billy Horschel – A gritty match play opponent with two WGC-Matchplay Championship wins hasn’t made it to the Team USA. Surprisingly, Billy has twice been overlooked for the Ryder Cup, first in 2014 when the team was finalized before he won the FedExCup, and again this year when he won the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.

5. Rocco Mediate – Rocco Mediate is famous for his epic performance against Tiger Woods in the 2008 U.S. Open. Mediate won six times on the PGA Tour between 1991 and 2010. Moreover, he has also earned over $16 million in the process. However, his only U.S. national team appearance came in the 2003 UBS Cup.
