The tennis wizard, Roger Federer picked up his hundredth ATP title in Dubai, he received love and wishes from all his followers, and besides the ATP fraternity, Bill Gates also felicitated the maestro. In addition to that glory, the God of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar conveyed his warm wishes to the GOAT of tennis, Roger Federer on his hundredth ATP crown.

Both the legends have shaped their own destinies. Along with revolutionising their field of play, they have created a culture in cricket and tennis for the upcoming generation to follow. Besides, being the God and GOAT of their respective sports, they carry similar magnanimity on their circuits. Now they also share space in the club of hundreds i.e., Tendulkar with a record of one hundred centuries and Roger Federer with a hoard of hundred ATP crowns.

“Well, for me, the simple thing is when Roger plays tennis, tennis looks easy,” Tendulkar said in conservation with Vijay Tagore. “Everyone starts believing that they too can play tennis because Roger makes the game look so easy. Simple. That is the beauty of Roger Federer. At no stage, he seems to be looking to be struggling to get to the ball. The shots he hits because he manages to cover the ground. Watching tennis has been a joy.”

“Of course, 100-titles achievement is terrific. What Roger has achieved is simply marvellous. He is always on top of the game, inspiring young players. He is one of the all-time greats in the sport, not just in tennis,” he continued.

Tendulkar has been following the Swiss prodigy, Roger Federer ever since he won his first title in Milan in 2001. Back then, Tendulkar prophesied Federer’s upcoming supremacy in the sport and was confident about the metamorphosis which he would be doing to the sport.

“I have been following Roger since 2001-2002,” Tendulkar revealed his past perspectives about Roger Federer. “I remember the days when Yuvi (Yuvraj Singh) would back Andy Roddick and I would support Roger. Those were early days Yuvi would talk about the power game of Roddick and I would speak of Roger’s finesse, class and incredible shots, I was convinced when I saw his abilities to create those angles.” Now whenever Tendulkar and Singh meet up, Sachin satirises him for skewing his prediction.
