Sadio Mane has been one of the most, if not the most, prolific forward in European football. The Senegalese international has one of the major contributors, along with the likes of Mohamad Salah, Roberto Firmino and Jordan Henderson, to the dominating run of Liverpool.
Hence it wouldn’t be a pleasant sight for the Liverpool fans to watch their in-form forward go out injured. Though their worst dream came true when Sadio Mane held up his run due to a hamstring issue in the 33rd minute of Liverpool’s encounter with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Sadio Mane was chasing a through ball from Mohamad Salah as the duo looked to counter. But Mane pulled off even before reaching the pass and immediately went down.
He had to be substituted immediately by new signing Takumi Minamino. Who didn’t fail to impress in a rather difficult match for the Reds. Who were visiting Nuno Espirito Santo’s side at their Molineux Stadium, a difficult place to visit for Premier League teams in recent years.
Jurgen Klopp gave an update on Sadio Mane’s injury as he was quoted saying, “Sadio is a real shame he had to go off. Hopefully, it’s not too bad -just a muscle tweak but we will see tomorrow.
“He felt something in the hamstring. We don’t know yet; we have to wait.”
Sadio Mane has been in sensational form this season. As he has already racked up 20 goal contribution in 33 appearances in all competitions. He was also named as the African player of the year. As he beat his teammate Mohamad Salah and Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez to the award.
However, Liverpool fans would still be anxious about their star’s injury as the club hasn’t released an official medical update yet.
