World No. 2 and India’s biggest hope at the BWF World Championships Saina Nehwal said she was suffering from shoulder pain on Wednesday.
The ace Indian shuttler tweeted “Got some shoulder pain after the session, hope to recover soon” through her account.
The news would scare millions of fans across India who are hoping Saina would break her medal drought at the prestigious event. Earlier this year after a historic run to the finals of the All England Open, the Olympic bronze medalist had complained of a similar problem. However, Saina recovered in time to compete and win the Indian Open Superseries in New Delhi.
The 25-year-old is aiming to bring home the country’s first gold medal at the World Championships. The event begins from 10th August in Jakarta and fans would hope she recovers quickly. With 14 days to go, missing training sessions could prove costly. If it is indeed serious or just a minor scare should be known within the next few days. Until then 1.2 billion fingers are crossed!
