The coronavirus pandemic has stirred up a lot of panic around the world. To combat the virus, many people around the world have donated or raised money. Indian tennis star Sania Mirza is one of those people who helped fight the virus.
Sania Mirza has raised 1.25 Crore in a week to help out 1 lakh families. This has come at a time when we have seen a drastic increase in the number of coronavirus cases so this is a much-needed effort that has come at the right time. Many people will be thanking her for her amazing act.
In the same Twitter post, she said that this is an ongoing effort. This means she is not done raising money to fight the virus. This is even better news for a lot of people. This gives them hope that they will be able to survive the pandemic that has made them suffer.
The coronavirus pandemic has affected Sania too. It has suspended the WTA tour which is something that will disappoint her because she started the year very well. She won the Hobart International tournament and was looking set to win some big titles this year.
Sadly, she won’t be able to any time soon as the tour has been suspended till June. If the current situation continues, it is likely the tour will not resume even in June. More people need to do what Sania Mirza is doing to help with the situation.
If more people contribute to help with the coronavirus around the world, then maybe the virus will be contained. We will then be able to see the WTA tour resume and Sania Mirza back on the court. Hopefully, she can play the way she did on 2015-16 and win some more grand slam titles.
