In the four tournaments they played, they faced two second round defeats(Dubai and Australian Open), reached the semi-finals of the Brisbane Open and were the runners up in the recently concluded Doha Open. Commenting on this, Sania said, “Hsieh is not feeling comfortable while playing on the Advantage court and feels she is struggling to make the adjustment. I tried playing on the backhand side in Doha and we did reach the final but I am unable to play my best tennis from the Ad court when we are playing against the top teams of the world,”

World No. 5 Sania, who is also a three time Grand Slam Winner, will now be teaming up with former World No. 1 Martina Hingis, who came out of retirement in 2013 to play doubles, and is currently ranked 7th. She recently won the Australian Open with Indian Leander Paes.
