Same track, same old story. McLaren continued its poor run in the testing sessions by ending their day today with just seven laps under their belt owing to a hydraulics fault which meant they had to change the power unit. After facing various issues in Jerez and the first Barcelona Test last week, the team, which was once the most hotly anticipated for the 2015 season, is sceptical whether they’ll be able to make sure that the two cars complete the first race in Melbourne.

Marcus Ericsson was the leader in the lap count with 122 laps and the second best time set on the super softs as Sauber made the best possible use for limited running in the previous Barcelona Test.

Mercedes had a relatively tough day today as they couldn’t get their car out for a spin after lunch owing to a faulty MGU-K which meant that their entire day lap count was stuck at 48 laps, all of which were set before lunch.
