We all know how good Serena Williams’ serve is. It is so powerful and reliable that it gets her out of so many difficult situations. This time, however, the service is not just helping her but also many children, thanks to #AcesDuCouer.
The initiative undertaken by the French Open is absolutely amazing. For every ace served on Phillipe Chatrier, the organizers will donate 100 Euros to a hospital for children. As you can expect, Serena didn’t disappoint them when she played yesterday.
She beat Kristie Ahn and served 11 aces in the process! This was amazing but she was not the only one who helped the cause as Stan Wawrinka also served 9 aces. In total, players served 38 aces yesterday! Hopefully, they will continue to serve like this throughout the tournament.

Serena Williams going for records
Serena is definitely happy that she is able to support a good cause. However, her main purpose at this year’s Roland Garros is to add to her long list of achievements. Two of them lie in store for her at the French Open- the quadruple Slam and the Grand Slam record.
After winning the 2015 French Open, the American star had won every single Major at least thrice. Winning all of them four times would be incredible, pointing to Serena’s dominance on all surfaces. This is definitely important to her, but not as important as the Grand Slam record.

The American star just needs one more to equal that particular record. Unfortunately, that one Major has eluded her over the last couple of years. She is now more motivated than ever to win it and she will take another step towards that when she plays Tsvetana Pironkova tomorrow.
