Serena Williams and Coco Gauff are Indebted to God and Good Health During COVID-19 Pandemic

American teenager Coco Gauff grabbed all the headlines during the 2019 Wimbledon. At the age of 15, she managed to cause one of the biggest upsets in tennis, having knocked Venus Williams in the opening round that year. The youngster managed to enter the second week of the tournament. However, she eventually lost to the champion, Simona Halep, in the fourth round.
Most youngsters draw inspiration from the tale of the William sisters. Serena has said in the past that she was nowhere close to where Coco is at the age of 15. Gauff even won her first WTA title at Linz in Austria last year, beating 2017 Roland Garros champion, Jelena Ostapenko.

With Thanksgiving coming up 0n November 26, Gauff was nothing but grateful and said, “I’m most thankful for my family and my team. I think without them I wouldn’t be here and also thankful to God for everything going on with COVID-19, just grateful to be here.”

Serena has enjoyed success throughout her career. Williams had one of the most decorated careers in women’s sports. Having won her first Slam at the US Open in 1999, she went on to win her 23rd as recent as the 2017 Australian Open. During this journey, she’s also had a fair share of injuries. The former World No. 1 doesn’t take any of this for granted. Williams said, “I’m most thankful for my health and you know every day that I get.”
Coco has been training with Serena Williams’ coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, for over five years. They definitely interact with each other. Fans would be excited to witness what’s in store from them at the Australian Open 2021.
