“Serena Williams Gets So Scared”: Grigor Dimitrov on Jumping off a Mountain With Her

With a few days left for the completion of the quarantine period, Grigor Dimitrov will compete at the ATP 250 events before the start of the 2021 Australian Open. While in isolation, Dimitrov went on Instagram live recently with Vitamin Well and answered some interesting questions from his fans.

For the last two years, Dimitrov has been the brand ambassador for Vitamin Well, a Swedish functional beverage company. During the Instagram Live, Dimitrov talked about the conditions at the Australian Open and being fortunate about getting a couple of hours to practice each day unlike some players, who have been placed in a hard lockdown.

Grigor Dimitrov replies to Serena’s question

Interestingly, 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams asked a question to Dimitrov on whether the latter has ever jumped off a mountain. The Bulgarian had a big smile on his face after hearing Williams’ question and shared a beautiful anecdote with the WTA tennis star.

Dimitrov talked about an incident when he went to an amusement park along with the American and revealed how scared the Williams’ got. But Dimitrov promised he would jump off the mountain if Williams was ready for the task.

“You know what? No. I would love it. Actually, me and her and I think some of her sisters went to an amusement park. She gets so scared. If she’s up for it, I would jump off the mountain,” said Dimitrov.

After answering her question, Dimitrov said he was looking forward to meeting Williams in the coming days. While Dimitrov is quarantining in Melbourne, Serena is staying in Adelaide along with her sister Venus Williams.

Since his debut at the Australian Open, Dimitrov’s best result has been reaching the semifinals in 2017. Last year, Dimitrov crashed out in the second round at Melbourne Park after losing to Tommy Pau in a thrilling five-setter.
