For some, it’s their dominance, while for others, it’s the wrecks and mishaps that make a race memorable. But that’s not the case with legendary NASCAR racer Kenny Wallace. His remembrance of a national series race, wherein he clinched the P1 spot, doesn’t seem only because of his win, as there was a lot more to it.

Recently, an image of Wallace’s 32-year-old #36 Pontiac Grand Prix surfaced, following which he praised the car and gave design credits to his brother, Rusty Wallace. However, when a fan asked Kenny if he remembers anything from that race, what followed was Kenny’s disclosure of the lost puzzle of racing days.

In 1991, the then 28-year-old Kenny Wallace contested in the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Despite starting at P3 on the grid, the 9x Xfinity race winner swooped past the likes of drivers Chuck Bown, Steve Grissom, and many others who were in contention, to claim the victory.

32 years have passed since that victorious day, following which an image of his #36 Pontiac surfaced, garnering attention from Kenny himself. But it was during this moment when a fan asked him if he could recollect some moments from that 300-lap race, that sent Wallace reminiscing upon the good old days.

Within no time, Wallace took to X and spilled the beans on his New Hampshire win, and wrote, “I remember that we dominated the 300 lap race and won a lot of money $70 thousand or so. Came down to the last pitstop, and I slid through the pits a little bit and then backed it up and got it in the box correctly, and went onto the Win. Owner of the car was @RustyWallace and the media got brother Rusty on the phone and was part of the media room interviews after the race. My biggest fan base is from New Hampshire. Our fan club meeting was always up there and we would have 600 people in the Tent. We always used the Dupont tent on Saturday nights”

Wallace didn’t forget to mention the boatloads of money he won from the Xfinity Series race win but also shed light on the final pit stop that almost went out of control.

The revelation of Kenny Wallace’s #36 New Hampshire winning car created a buzz in the community as the Pontiac Grand Prix disclosure not only sent Wallace, but his age-old loyal fans, too, down memory lane.
