MLB legend Derek Jeter and his sister Sharlee Jeter have always been close growing up. Often, it is said that brothers are more protective of their sisters. But in this case, Sharlee was and still is more protective of her brother than he is of her. For those unversed, Captain Clutch is five years older than his sister. Hence, growing up, Sharlee was always smothered with love for being the youngest one in the family.

Now, the brother-sister duo is grown up to the point that they have their own families. And most recently, the president of the Turn 2 Foundation, Sharlee Jeter, apologized to her brother for always being a spoiled child. However, whether this apology is sincere is yet to be known.

Will Derek Jeter accept this cheeky apology from his sister?

Sharlee Jeter took to Instagram to share a post, which said, “I wish my siblings would stop calling me “spoiled” just because I’m the baby in the family. The fact is, my parents kept having children until they found one they liked. It’s so not my issue.”

As the younger Jeter, Sharlee, shared the post on her Instagram story, she wrote, “Sorry @derekjeter.” But it wasn’t without having a few laughing emojis right beside it.

Playful disputes like this are common between siblings, no matter the age. But will the legend of modern baseball accept this apology so late in life?

In 2000, when the Hall of Famer had just won his fourth World Series ring, Sharlee Jeter was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma at only 20 years old.

The family went through a tough time, causing a role reversal where Derek became the protective one. Throughout the journey that Sharlee fought, her elder brother stood by her, and no matter what he was feeling, he remained calm for his baby sister. And that is the bond between every brother and sister.
