An unexpected success at a Grand Slam event in tennis can have extreme effects on an athlete. Either the player can keep moving up the ladder and prove to be the best or they give in to the pressure and media attention and lose their way. So far, Emma Raducanu maintained immense composure for a teenager who clinched her first major title without losing a set at the US Open.

Post the success in New York, Raducanu had a huge jump in her singles rankings. Amidst the pressure, the Brit had few setbacks as well. At the moment, Raducanu is preparing for the event in Australia.

“We always have a good laugh and good banter off court in between sessions and in the Players’ Lounge. She’s a good girl with a nice personality. And I’d like to think she is still the same person now. I messaged her my congratulations when she won in New York and she is still humble enough to reply. I definitely feel like she is the same”. 

Having proved his talent this year on the ITF tour, Jubb is one promising talent and a positive hope for British tennis. Paul also hoped that Raducanu deals her fame with ease going forward.

“The change to her life is massive. Now everyone globally knows her name and I guess she cannot even walk freely down the street now. It would be such a tough thing to get used to but I’m sure she will get used to it fairly soon”. 

Coming to Raducanu’s Australia schedule, she will feature in two WTA warm-up events in Melbourne ahead of the ‘happy slam’. Both the tournament will also include four-time Grand Slam champion, Naomi Osaka.
