And much like his father, the son now stands up for his teammate Travis Hunter, the two-way star, after he bravely faced criticism for his support of fiancée Lenne.

If you’ve been keeping up, you know Travis Hunter’s fiancée, Lenee, has been catching some seriously unfair heat from fans ever since the Heisman win. After a week of nonstop trolling, Travis finally said, ‘Enough!‘ and deleted his Instagram account. Bold move, right? But instead of rallying behind him, most people are just busy trying to play it cool online. Enter Shedeur Sanders. On December 23, Shedeur stepped in like the real MVP, posting a solid show of support for Travis. Because when the noise gets loud, that’s when true friends speak up.

“All y’all athletes, entertainers, artist etc if y’all genuine trying to holla at trav y’all know how to get in touch with him or someone around. At this point y’all just posting for the algorithm trying to look cool.” the tweet stated. When they force a Heisman winner to step up, it’s a clear sign the elite QB is ready to give the CFB community the wake-up call it deserves. And their response? Playing dumb like they know nothing.

Why did Travis Hunter make the audacious move?

Lenee appeared somewhat distressed in a video that went viral online the day following Travis’ victory, which showed him smiling for pictures with fans during a meet-and-greet. She became the focus of attention during the Heisman ceremony, which was unexpected, but for all the incorrect motives. Recall the last incident? Lenee was sitting close to Travis when he was taking pictures with fans, and she didn’t appear very pleased. Even her question, “Am I supposed to sit here all day?” didn’t sit well with everyone. On Sunday, however, another video became viral. It was a three-year-old music video featuring Lenee getting intimate with a rapper from SoundCloud.

In the midst of all of this, renowned NFL players like former Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant and Detroit Lions’ Nate Burleson even warned the Buffs’ CB/WR that his link could hurt his NFL career. Burleson went so far as to say, “It’s everybody else’s business out that couple put it out there…can’t complain when they respond.” Despite all that has happened over the last seven days, Hunter has supported and shielded his fiancée.

He said he won’t listen to any critique of Lenee because they have been together for five years and he knows her since the beginning. Finally keeping his word, Hunter deleted his Instagram account, suggesting that he had likely had enough of the hate speech aimed at Lenee.
