Before the national media and the NCAA surrounded Sherrone Moore after his illicit affair came into the light, it was one other reporter who was already stirring the pot. As of today, the Wolverines’ in-state rival, Michigan State alum Justin Spiro, shared a bunch of screenshots in which Moore allegedly threatened him for trying to expose him.

Before Michigan fired Sherrone Moore, an incident occurred. According to Spiro, and as shown clearly in the screenshots he shared, Moore called him a “fake reporter” and warned that his lawyers would be coming after him.

“Yeah, just nu-s, but my lawyers and people are all over it and ready to attack this dude from all angles if he tries something stupid,” Moore’s texts read. “He is a fake reporter with 27,000 followers trying to get a rise and create bullshit.”

The hostility is for obvious reasons. Spiro has always been vocal about Moore’s inappropriate exchanges with multiple women on various social media platforms.

“The exchanges generally involved attempting to meet up with women on dinner dates, sometimes under the guise of social visits during recruiting trips,” Spiro wrote on X.

Spiro was among the first to report that Moore was engaged in an extramarital affair with Paige Shiver, his Executive Assistant. That in turn became the sole reason for Moore’s “for-cause” termination from the Big House. But he didn’t stop there. Police arrested Moore on December 10 for forcibly breaking into Shiver’s house.

Authorities officially booked him into Washtenaw County Jail. Two days later, a judge arraigned him and released him on bond with strict conditions. However, after getting out of jail, the first thing he does is contact OnlyFans model Mia Sorety. Justin Spiro reported that story. The message reportedly expressed Moore’s frustration with Sorety for publicly discussing their past interactions.

Sorety previously stated that Moore subscribed to her OnlyFans and paid for every single video. Along with Spiro, Sorety shared screenshots showing that Moore was constantly messaging her just hours before his release.

Recent updates on the ongoing court-room drama

As of today, Sherrone Moore’s coaching career has come to a solid pause. And his legal proceedings are going on in full throttle. He was arrested on these charges:

  • Felony Third-Degree Home Invasion: Carries a potential sentence of up to 5 years in prison.
  • Stalking (Misdemeanor): Related to a domestic relationship.
  • Breaking and Entering (Misdemeanor)

He broke in and uttered phrases like, “Your blood is in my hands,” and, “You ruined my life.” On February 17, 2026, Judge J. Cedric Simpson granted Moore’s request for an evidentiary hearing to challenge the circumstances of his arrest. The judge has expressed concerns over a “glaring omission” by police when obtaining the arrest warrant. The problem here was that the case detective failed to disclose that Moore and Paige Shiver had a professional relationship.

That specific information would provide a legitimate context for the high volume of calls and texts Moore sent. The upcoming dates are set for March 2, 2026, and March 19, 2026. On March 2, there is an evidentiary hearing for the judge to hear from police and witnesses regarding the warrant process. March 19th will determine whether the case has enough evidence to proceed to trial in circuit court as a felony.
