The season is done and dusted for Wrexham. Once again, the Welsh club has achieved promotion and will now compete in EFL League One. With ample time remaining for the new season to commence, a few of its star players are utilizing it to indulge in cross-sport events. Recently, the face of the Red Dragons, Paul Mullin, sent a 2-word message to Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez ahead of his showdown fight against Jaime Munguia during his ongoing vacation in Las Vegas.

The 29-year-old took to Instagram and posted a story alongside his fellow teammates, Andy Cannon, James McClean, and George Evans, as all posed with big smiles. Additionally, Mullin wrote a caption saying, “Let’s go @canelo.” Certainly, Canelo Alvarez would be pleased with the England-born star’s uplifting message. It’s even great to see Mullin and the lads go down at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas to witness the undisputed super middleweight championship live.

Interestingly, Cannon had also shared glimpses of all four boys on their way to see the bout in a big limousine, with the caption, “Canelo fight incoming 🥊👊🏻😃,” extending support to the multiple world championship holder. On the other hand, McClean shared a click of quadruple outside the venue, with Evans also posting the view. Surely, all four Wrexham stars will be looking forward to enjoying the fight and hoping their favorite fighter wins. After all, they deserve such a break, considering they gave their blood, sweat, and tears on the pitch to get the much-deserved promotion.

The calendar remains clear for over two months for Wrexham until they return to action. This gives plenty of time to all the players and coaching staff to look forward to the EFL League One challenge with fresh minds. But before embarking on their new journey, the Red Dragons will take part in their pre-season ritual, flying to the United States and Canada for their ‘Wrex Coast Tour’ and facing off against Premier League and MLS teams throughout the summer.

The tour commences in Santa Barbara, California with a match against Bournemouth at the Harder Stadium on July 19. Subsequently, Wrexham will clash with Premier League powerhouse Chelsea at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on July 24, marking another encounter with the Blues after facing them in last season’s pre-season tour. Then, on July 26, the Welsh squad will travel north to Canada for a showdown with Major League Soccer side Vancouver Whitecaps.
