Wrexham Co-owner Rob McElhenney Poses Amusing Question to Max Homa After Farmers Insurance Open Feature Alongside USWNT Legend Alex Morgan

Rob McElhenney is a pure jack of all trades. Whether navigating Hollywood or showcasing astute entrepreneurial skills through the success of Wrexham, the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star exudes versatility. Beyond his prowess in the beautiful game, McElhenney recently showcased his golfing finesse at the ongoing Farmers Insurance Open, sharing the spotlight with USWNT superstar Alex Morgan. Adding a tinge of humor, he even turned to his nation’s renowned golfer Max Homa to rate his ‘swing‘.

All of this transpired on the Wrexham man’s social media. The actor shared a clip of himself taking a golf swing. He added a caption, quoting, Thanks for having me PGA Tour!” Below it, he playfully tagged and asked Homa to comment on his golf skill, saying, How’s my swing“. The 6X PGA Tour winner has yet to give his expert analysis of McElhenney’s efforts. Interestingly, Alex Morgan had also earlier posted the clip of her golf swing with the caption, First Pro Am in the books!! Homa, don’t hold back [cheeky smile emoji]“.

To which Homa replied, It’s a bad sign when the ponytail moves faster than the club. (I hate to admit that I’ve got nothing. This swing is good  athlete.)” Notably, the Farmers Insurance Open is regarded as an important early-season contest. It is held annually in January at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, California. The tournament attracts the best players and has been a mainstay of the PGA TOUR schedule for many years. This year’s installment featured Rob McElhenney, Alex Morgan, and the renowned comedian James Davis among the star names participating in the event alongside Max Homa and Sam Ryder.

While it seemed to be a fun activity, let’s hear what it actually felt like for McElhenney.

Playing golf was like a ‘rotting cancer of hell’, joked Rob McElhenney 

The Wrexham co-owner indulged in an 18-hole game, sharing nine each with Max Homa and Sam Ryder. When the first round ended, ESPN golf expert Michael Collins was filming a video while asking everyone how they felt. Although Ryder gave positive comments, Rob McElhenney started his hilarious rant by saying, Physically, I feel great. Emotionally, I’m a wreck.”

I’m smiling but I’m crying on the inside. You can’t see it because I’m a great actor. That [points at course] nothing but beautiful and in here [rubs chest area] a rotting cancer of hell… and that’s golf! concluded the Four Walls Irish Whiskey owner. To sum it up, Rob McElhenney had a wonderful time swinging the club.
