Former Arsenal favored personnel, Mathieu Flamini, is one of the richest former soccer players on the planet. He is worth $10 billion, with a company named GF Biochemicals being the source of income. According to the Athletic, Flamini explained the thoughts of owning a club. He stated, “It’s a world that I belong to. If there is the right opportunity at the right time and the right discussion, if I meet people who are the same vision and mindset and desire to use football for a purpose, I would love to,” He explained how soccer is gaining attention from the masses which is likely the reason for American owners like JJ Watt and Ryan Reynolds are investing in soccer clubs. 

Flamini also mentioned how his former clubs, Arsenal, AC Milan, and Marseille, mean so much to him. He remains interested in owning a club if the right project comes into place. Since retiring from soccer in 2019, his focus ultimately remained on the biochemicals company. With business partner Pasquale Granata, he can produce to mass-produce levulinic acid–an oil substitute with many uses.
