The fans have always considered Lionel Messi to be one of the greatest soccer players to ever exist. It seems like the Argentine soccer legend is still in his prime at this age. The simple reason is that he just won the FIFA World Cup at the age of 35. This was Argentina’s third World Cup trophy. The Argentine recently posted a story about the movie ‘Argentina 1985’. Messi praised the movie and also backed them to win an Oscar.

Coincidentally, Messi just lifted Argentina’s third-ever FIFA World Cup. If everything goes as per the soccer legend’s plan, his country could also win its third-ever Oscar.

Lionel Messi backs Argentina, 1985 to win an Oscar!

Lionel Messi is an inspiration to millions of people around the world despite their age. The movie ‘Argentina, 1985’ has garnered a lot of attention globally in recent times. The board nominated the Argentine classic in the Best International Feature Film list.

Many film critics from around the world have watched this movie and rated it up there with the best of the best. Recently, one of Argentina’s most famous personalities, Lionel Messi had a few words to say about the feature film.

Just hours ago, the Argentine posted a snapshot of a still from the movie. However, it is his words that inspired every fan. He wrote, “Qué gran película “Argentina, 1985” con @ricardodarinok y nominada al ÓSCAR. ¡Vamos por el tercerol”. His words directly translated to, “What a great movie ‘Argentina, 1985 with @ricardodarinok and nominated for an Oscar. Let’s go for the third!”.

His last line inspired a lot of people in a matter of minutes. Movie buffs and even soccer fans are now supporting and cheering for the movie, such is the influence of Lionel Messi. However, the coincidence of the number ‘three’ in this case is simply bizarre. The two other Argentine movies to win an Oscar are ‘La Historia official’ and ‘El Secreto de sus Ojos’ in 1985 and 2009, respectively.

Apart from that, movie critics have also rated the storyline and concept of the movie as top-notch. Let’s have a brief look at what this movie is all about.

What is Argentina, 1985?

Argentine, 1985 is firstly a real-life story. The feature film is about two prosecutors, Luis Moreno Ocampo, and Julio Cesar Strassera. Back in those days, the two of them unbelievably took on a case that was ‘unwinnable’. This case was basically against Argentina’s military group for their crimes against humanity. The lawyer duo put on a brave fight in the Argentine court of justice. Their historic story inspired the entire nation and will continue to do so.

Movie Rating websites have also rated Argentina, 1985 highly. IMDB punches in with a strong 7.6/10. Followed by a healthy 95% from Rotten Tomatoes and a 4/5 by Common Sense Media.

While the two lawyers inspired their nation for the following decades, it remains to be seen if Lionel Messi’s attempt to lead his country to their third-ever Oscar is successful or not. The fans are extremely confident because whatever their Argentine soccer legend has touched has surely turned to gold.
