Against all odds, Qatar pulled it off. They invested billions and created a tournament that was full of action. Everyone was skeptical of their ability to pull off a tournament like the FIFA World Cup. Qatar pulled the tournament off better than expected. The matches were clean; the production was flawless and apart from a few stories here and there, there were hardly any big stories of Qatar messing up. Although Qatar invested more than 200 billion USD in hosting the tournament. They had to build the infrastructure up from the scratch. However, the country is now eyeing for investing more in soccer.
Qatar faced backlash from activists all around the world even back when they announced Qatar winning the hosting rights. Many artists denied performing for FIFA in Qatar, citing the Human rights violations in the country. Columbian pop star Shakira was among those artists. However, the sports department of Qatar is now aiming to leave the past behind.

Qatar is investing in European soccer
According to the reports by CBS Journalist Ben Jacobs, Qatar is ramping up investments in the European club. According to reports, Qatar has reached the talking stage with the Club Tottenham Hotspur. Ben Jacobs reported that Nasser Al-Khelaifi met with Daniel Levy to explore the chance they can have to deal with each other.

Qatar Sports Investment already holds shares with Braga and if reports are true, one more European club. They are also keeping a keen eye on the South American region.
