“There will be another time,” that’s what Aston Villa’s WSL star Alisha Lehmann penned down on Instagram after her break-up with Brazilian soccer player Douglas Luiz late in 2022. Now a year after that message it looks like “the right time has come” for the ex-couple as they posed together for glamorous photos at balloon-filled New Year’s party.

This piece of news came just hours ago when the Aston Villa women’s star shared a few glimpses of celebrating 2024 with her 16 million Instagram followers. With a caption saying, “Happy 2024“, Lehmann posted pictures along with Luiz and his family. Then Luiz who also plays for Aston Villa in the Premier League commented “I love you,” on the post, with Lehmann replying, “Te amo amor.” This could be a massive indication that the duo is back together after their publicized split late last year.

They seem to have put their differences aside as they welcomed 2024 in style with Luiz putting his arm around Lehmann’s waist at one point. This does suggest an amicable reunion with the possibility of them rekindling their romance. Both will be looking forward to beginning a fresh chapter of their lives in the new year. Currently, Alisha Lehmann is enjoying her time off alongside family and friends during the WSL winter break, while Luiz scored a late penalty to help Villa beat Burnley and move to second spot in the Premier League.

Notably, the lovebirds first started dating back in 2021, when they met at a Birmingham-based club. Lehmann even moved in with Luiz in his $1.9 million home in Sutton Coldfield. However, both parted ways in November 2022. Speaking of which, what exactly was the reason behind their separation?

A conflict over Alisha Lehmann’s involvement in her official 2023 calendar led to the couple’s decision to split. She appeared in several poses that Luiz found uncomfortable. This caused them to publicly split on social media. Lehmann allegedly sought shelter at a teammate’s home after the breakup.

But now that an exciting reconciliation has been announced, the couple could be expected to live together once more. Before Luiz, Lehmann was dating fellow soccer player Ramona Bachmann. The Swiss superstar ended her relationship with the current PSG star, who also earlier enjoyed stints at Chelsea and Wolfsburg, on March 7, 2021.
