“Americans Wouldn’t Know Them” – Naomi Campbell and Soccer World Reacts to Kylian Mbappe Going Undercover on New York’s Streets Without Being Spotted

French soccer star Kylian Mbappe was in New York with his PSG teammate Achraf Hakimi. They took the streets of the city in incognito mode, wearing masks. Mbappe shared the post on his Instagram, and soccer stars, celebs, and fans reacted to it when Mbappe put a pic in a mask with Hakimi.

The PSG duo has taken some time off after a defeat to title rivals RC Lens in Ligue1 on Saturday. French giants went down 3-1 to Lens with four points separating the clubs. Mbappe arrived early to the PSG training, cutting short his vacation, and featured in the first league game after the World Cup break for PSG. 

The French forward scored a last-gasp winner in that game, giving crucial three points to PSG. He took a few days off with his teammate to visit the US, where he saw an NBA game between the Brooklyn Nets and San Antonio Spurs and was seen roaming the streets of New York with a mask on.

Fans, celebs, and soccer stars have reacted to the Instagram post shared by Kylian Mbappe with pics from the streets. One fan wrote, “LMAO, Americans wouldn’t know them anyway.” Hollywood star Naomi Campbell also commented, “Love the masks for so many reasons..enjoy NYC.”

Former Dutch star Patrick Kluivert responded with a thumbs up and heart emoji while Ashley Lawrence, PSG female player, wrote “Times Square.” Former professional soccer player and current broadcaster, Joy Paulian welcomed the duo to the city. French freestyle soccer player Sean Garnier posted, “Street show New York! Watch out, sometimes there are ballers.”

The PSG duo was present on the courtside in Barclays Arena for the game between Brooklyn Nets and San Antonio Spurs. They enjoyed the game that saw the Nets win 139-103. It was the 12th consecutive victory for the Nets.

Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant shone for the Nets, scoring 27 points and 25 points, respectively. However, the French star was greeted with World Cup chants by a few Argentina fans in the stadium.

Mbappe and Hakimi will return to Paris to prepare for the French Cup game this weekend, and it will be interesting to see his face-off with Lionel Messi, who has returned to training today.
