Showing his real-life heroics away from playing Deadpool, Wrexham AFC owner Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively, have recently offered support by donating to a noble cause. The Hollywood couple is known for pledging funds and supporting several causes, but perhaps this is their most telling donation to date.

Reynolds’ Wrexham just came off a thrilling 3-2 win over David Beckham and his class of ’92 teammates’ team Salford FC in EFL League Two. But just before the Welsh club’s win yesterday, the Deadpool actor pledged a huge sum of $1 million to support, specifically children who have been affected by the Israel-Hamas war.

It’s a sad state of affairs as the world mourns the tragic loss of life while the Israel and Palestine conflict continues. But as per a report in The Hollywood Reporter, Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively have become the first celebrities to publicly donate to the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.

The report states that Reynolds and his wife donated a sum of $1 million to the International Committee of the Red Cross called the ICRC, “to help children in Israel and Gaza”. This is, however, not the first time the couple has donated to a global cause. As per the report in The Hollywood Reporter, Reynolds and his wife donated $1 million to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, shortly following the outbreak of war between Ukraine and Russia last year.
