Soccer has millions of fans all over the world. Not only us but famous celebrities and players from other sports love watching the beautiful game. And among those die-hard fans is none other than Serena Williams.
The King of WTA isn’t shy enough to express her love for this sport, especially when it comes to women’s soccer. Serena and her two-year-old daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., became co-owners of a soccer team.

The duo of mother and daughter are proud owners of the Angel City soccer club. Along with her father, the club’s equity members include more than 30 individuals. The list also has the likes of actresses Jennifer Garner, Natalie Portman, Eva Longoria, Jessica Chastain, and Uzo Aduba.
Serena William’s love for the game
Serena’s love for women’s soccer is not a recent avocation. In fact, her affection for soccer goes a long way back. Her previous tweet explains a lot about why she is now the owner of a soccer club.`
Back in 2011, Japan battled against the USA in the 2011 women’s FIFA World Cup in Waldstadion, Frankfurt. Both Japan and the USA cruised past easily against Sweden and France, respectively.

Serena couldn’t watch the 2011 women’s FIFA World Cup final as she was practicing for the US Opens. However, the score might have disappointed her later.
This wasn’t the first time she was excited this much in a World Cup, in fact this was her enthusiasm in the 2022 FIFA World Cup that was held in Qatar. During the final between Argentina and France, the 41-year-old tweeted “Ok if I have a heart attack it’s cause I’m watching this.”
