Megan Rapinoe has never been one to bite her tongue when it comes to US politics. Her outspoken stance against former President Donald Trump and his policies has earned her both admiration and ire. Yet again, Rapinoe and her fiance and WNBA legend Sue Bird opined that the previous Trump administrations hadn’t done enough to gather their trust. While opining so, the USWNT legend hailed VP and Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris’ new Vice President pick Tim Walz. She thinks Walz could stand up to the likes of Trump and JD Vance when there are quite a lot of limitations to Harris.
Kamala Harris’ Vice Presidential pick Tim Walz became the talking point in the recent episode of the ‘A Touch More’ podcast, hosted by Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe. The 39-year-old wasted no time to unveil why she considers the Minnesota Governor to be apt for the Vice President’s role. “Really resonating about this vice presidential pick in Tim Walz is that with trust, comes truth. And he is gonna tell the truth,” said the two-time World champion.
Then, Rapinoe stressed that Walz doesn’t have the same limitations that Kamala Harris, as a ‘Black woman’ has in the US. “He’s just going to call it out, and he can do it in a way that I think VP Harris can’t do. He’s going to able to say things whether it’s to Trump or to JD Vance that as a black woman in this country, like she’ll just get k***ed for, and so he can kind of shield her a little bit,” Rapinoe added.

When Megan Rapinoe called for fellow women to collectively endorse Kamala Harris
Last month, a fundraising campaign which included Megan Rapinoe, Sue Bird, and 160,000 other women, announced that they had raised $2 million to aid Kamala Harris’ Presidential bid.
