NWSL season 2023 is about to kick off in a couple of weeks. The opening game will be played between North Carolina Courage and Kansas City Current on 25th March. The fans are waiting to see their favorite teams and stars in action most notably, the Angel City FC, OL Reign, and 2022 champions Portland Thorns. The Serena Williams, Alexis Ohanian, and Natalie Portman-owned team, Angel City, is one of the most hyped teams this season after making their league debut the last season.

Angel City FC got the first pick in the 2023 draft and raised the roof for their pick of Alyssa Thompson. Alexis Ohanian, husband of Serena Williams, himself shared a clip of billboards in Los Angeles. Ohanian talked a lot about the league improving the future of that sport in the country and by the looks of it, he appears to have hit his prediction on the bull’s eye.

Alexis Ohanian just shared a picture on his Twitter handle where he talked about attending an NWSL meeting. He wore Angel City FC merchandise and wrote about him going back to day 2 of the NWSL Boards of Governors meeting. Ohanian acknowledged that he was wearing his team’s merchandise which may seem “obnoxious”. This post came about 13 hours before Angel City’s big match with the Mexican club, Club America.

What came from that meeting is yet to be disclosed. But it seems teams are getting ready to kick off their season. NWSL is making last-minute touchups to make this season by far the biggest one in the history of NWSL. With names like Mallory Swanson, Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe, and Trinity Rodman.

Playing for Washington spirit this season will be a 15-year-old kid name, Chloe Ricketts. She broke the record becoming the young player ever to be signed in the history of NWSL. Before her, the record was with Trinity Rodman, drafted in 2021 by Washington Spirit.
