Soccer fans around the world have been hit with alarming news about ex-Manchester United star and Independiente boss Carlos Tevez, with the manager rushed to the hospital earlier tonight. According to reports, Tevez complained of having pain in his chest area right above the heart and was immediately taken to a nearby local medical facility.

Independiente was quick to issue an official statement on Carlos Tevez’s health, as the club issued an official release addressing the situation. The Argentine club stated, “Our coach, Carlos Tevez, went to the La Trinidad Hospital in San Isidro with chest pain. They carried out the corresponding tests, and they were satisfactory. Today he will continue with a series of tests scheduled in advance as part of a general check-up. Carlos Tevez will be hospitalized as a precaution until the corresponding tests are completed.”

Reports suggest the manager had been under a lot of stress and the chest pain issue is likely to stem from it. Tevez is expected to undergo a string of tests at the Finochietto Hospital in Buenos Aires. Fans will hope the manager can return soon with Independiente going through a tumultuous time.

Clouds of uncertainty over Carlos Tevez’s future

Tevez’s run with Independiente has not gone according to plan, with cracks visible in the ex-Manchester United star’s tenure with the team. The Independiente boss also scrapped his press conference despite the media commitments after his team crashed out of the Argentine Cup earlier this month. Reports suggest the manager is not happy with the direction the team is heading in and could also hand in his resignation if things don’t change within the club.

Independiente are expected to train later this week. However, with Carlos Tevez now hospitalized, the club could be forced to change their plans for the coming weeks. While his assistant manager is expected to fill his role in the coming weeks, the team could be forced to part ways with the manager if his health continues to deteriorate.

Tevez has been a part of Independiente after signing a two-year deal with the club in August 2023.
