Oliver said,” I hope Qatar loses all their games. That would feel like something. I hope Messi plays well because it feels like this will be the end.

Qatar lost all of its matches in the group stage to create an unwanted record; the first host nation to lose all group stage matches. They were the only team with Canada to finish without a point. Although Canada slightly edged them in the worst record with a better goal difference. Lionel Messi is in the quarter-finals with Argentina and will face the Netherlands for a place in the semi-final. Messi has been involved in four goals (3 Goals, 1 Assist) so far.
A World Cup campaign to forget for Cristiano Ronaldo, so far
Cristiano Ronaldo came into the World Cup on the back of a controversial interview with Piers Morgan. The interview made Manchester United terminate the contract of the player mutually. However, the player seemed happy after returning to the national team.

In their opening game, Portugal beat Ghana 3-2. Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring from the spot. The goal meant Ronaldo became the first player to score in five different World Cups. He is yet to score after that and will hope to change that as it is a crucial part of the tournament and he will want to help the team.
The player was at the center of controversy after the last group-stage game against South Korea. Ronaldo looked angry when Fernando Santos substituted him in the 65th minute. Subsequently, Santos dropped him to the bench in the round of 16 game against Switzerland. To add insult to injury, the player who started instead of him scored a hat-trick.
