Cristiano Ronaldo is no stranger to criticism, but he doesn’t respond unless it’s live. But his sisters are famous for responding to any legend who speaks ill of their brother. Following Antonio Cassano’s criticism of Ronaldo, saying that the Real Madrid legend doesn’t know how to play football, CR7’s sister Elma Aveiro has again responded with a fitting reply, taking potshots at the former Italian striker for his previous remarks after Al Nassr’s vs. Al-Wehda. Looks like Elma has started a personal beef with Antonio Cassano.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 903rd career goal during the Al-Nassr vs Al-Wehda 2-0 win on 27th September. This victory moved the Saudi side to second place, trailing leaders Al-Hilal by just one point, while Al-Wehda dropped to 14th.

Antonio Cassano had taken a jibe at the Portuguese legend following his 900th career goal. Elma Aveiro was quick to counter him, “One wakes up to these things. I don’t know this poor guy. It doesn’t matter, but just one thing for him, he doesn’t know how to score 900 goals. Imagine if he did. They say he was a footballer. I think they’re wrong, he was certainly a ball boy,” she wrote on Instagram.

Well, just yesterday, following Al Nassr’s win, she posted another story on her Instagram page saying, “He’s old, doesn’t know how to play football, etc., and he’s already 903, and he’s…” Quite a shade thrown at the former Italian forward!

Anyway, Cassano’s comments raised a lot of eyebrows. He said, “Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t know how to play football. He could score 3000 goals, I don’t give a f**k. [Gonzalo] Higuain, [Sergio] Aguero, [Karim] Benzema, [Robert] Lewandowski, [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic, and [Luis] Suarez knew how to link up with the team. They knew how to do a lot of things, unlike Ronaldo, whose only objective has always been to score,” Cassano told the VIVA El Futbol podcast via GOAL.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo’s controversial $10.9 million payment case with Juve is still going on. Let’s delve deeper.

Update on Ronaldo payment: Juventus confirms the appeal

Juventus confirmed that they would file an appeal against the $10.9 million that Cristiano Ronaldo’s unpaid wages required from them. The documentation was made public today after the board of directors meeting included the confirmation. Deep within the many pages released by the club, there was a note announcing Juventus had lodged an appeal on September 26, 2024, to the Work Section of the Turin Tribunal.

When Cristiano Ronaldo joined Manchester United in August 2021 after leaving Juventus on the day of the transfer deadline, everything became out of control. Though he still owes some unpaid salary, he signed a release form attesting that the club did not owe him any more money. In April 2024, the striker’s appeal was partially successful, with a verdict dictating that Juventus was in a position to compensate the Portuguese star €9.8 million.

Because these were salaries that Cristiano Ronaldo had legally “given up” to assist the team get through the pandemic in 2020, there was significant uncertainty around the subject.

However, Ronaldo will be back in action when Al-Nassr hosts Al-Rayyan on Monday night for their second AFC Champions League match before shifting their focus back to the Saudi Pro League for an encounter against Al-Orobah on October 5. Where do you think this controversy is going to lead?
