Soccer fans will always remember Thierry Henry for his indelible impact on the beautiful game. Beyond the highlights of his brilliant career, it is his company with iconic players that enriches his soccer journey. Despite having graced the field with such greats as Lionel Messi, Samuel Eto’o, and Zinedine Zidane, Henry has hailed another France legend, saying he has ‘never seen anything like it‘ in his life.

The Frenchman earlier backed Lionel Messi as one of the best players in the world. During his Barcelona days, he even partnered with La Pulga to score some of the most iconic goals. But in his eyes, it is David Trezeguet that he considers the ‘best finisher’. In fact, he has a solid reason behind it.

In a surprising revelation, Thierry Henry opened up about which of his former teammates stood out as the perfect goalscorer. He said, “Best finisher I’ve ever played with? [David] Trezeguet. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life.” Henry further heaped praise on Trezeguet by highlighting the striker’s golden goal, a stunning left-foot volley, in the 2000 Euro final against Italy. “The best example for me is his goal at the EURO. People don’t understand how difficult it is. If it was me, I don’t know where the ball would have landed,” he added.

Notably, aside from being national teammates, David Trezeguet and Henry shared a locker room at AS Monaco for four years, from 1995 until 1999, when Henry moved to Juventus. A year later, Trezeguet also trod the path of his national teammate to Turin in 2000, but Henry was signed by Arsenal before they could play together. Aside from winning Ligue 1 together with Monaco, both also won the 1998 FIFA World Cup and the 2000 Euros. Either way, Henry’s words will surely bring a smile to Trezeguet’s face after all these years. Earlier, the former Barcelona No. 14 had shared the reality of playing alongside Messi. What did he have to say about it?

Nothing!”

What Would Marcos Rojo’s Arrival Mean for Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami?

He acknowledged that, at Barcelona, achievements were paramount; therefore, the emphasis was on helping Lionel Messi, who ‘scored four every game’. One take at a time

I first kicked a soccer ball when I was 12. My early exposure to playing the sport earned me many accolades at the zonal and district levels. I still remember my first goal, where I scored a 90+5 minute header like Sergio Ramos did in the 2014 Champions League final against Atletico Madrid.
