Dani Alves is not currently living the best days of his life. The player is currently in Barcelona’s Brians 2 Prison as he is in jail for sexually assaulting a 23-year-old woman.

The 39-year-old defender was arrested by the Spanish police on January 20 after all the details of his wrongdoings emerged. Reports said that the player had attacked the women outside the nightclub, where the incident reportedly took place.

The player himself admitted to the wrongdoing in front of the authorities before denying he knew about the incident. Moreover, his wife, Joana Sanz, recently ended their relationship, which led him to go on a hunger strike.

Soon after he learned about his divorce, the player was completely devastated and very nervous, and he didn’t eat for days. However, a fresh report has emerged regarding his living arrangements.

Alves was sharing a cell phone with his cellmate. However, now that his accompanying cellmate has gone, reports suggest that Alves wants to be locked up in his cell for the rest of his life.

His wife, Joana, visited the footballer two times and asked the footballer to part ways with her. However, the player was reluctant to agree on anything, which ultimately led Sanz to publicly announce their separation.

This wasn’t the only devastating moment of her life, as she also lost her mother to cancer. Soon after that, she also lost her beloved pet named Coco, a month ago, before seeing Alves in jail. Indeed, it has been a few tough months for Joana.

Bringing soccer into jail

From lifting silverware with Europe’s elite clubs to playing soccer in jail, Alves is in quite a predicament right now. Despite enduring a tough time in jail, Alves hasn’t given up on the sport that is close to his heart.

Several reports suggest that the player is organizing soccer matches inside prison and that he himself is taking part in the process. Moreover, the other inmates are experiencing positive effects from these matches. In fact, the latter is even scoring goals inside the prison.

The last time he was in action with the ball was with his club, Pumas, who are even suing him for around $4 million in damages, thus eventually terminating his contract. The defender joined the club in the summer of 2022 and featured in just 13 games and bagged five assists to his name.
