As the month of October commences, it also brings a series of domestic fixtures for Al Nassr. Aside from the Roshn Saudi League matches, they will continue their AFC Champions League journey. But just days before their upcoming Champions League fixture, the rivals of Cristiano Ronaldo, Al Duhail, have decided to sack their coach, Hernan Crespo, and replace him with former PSG boss Christophe Galtier.

Despite having a decent squad with the likes of ex-Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho, ex-Girona star Michael Olunga, and Ronaldo’s Portuguese teammate Ruben Semedo, Al Duhail has been struggling with their poor form.

On October 24th, Qatari side Al Duhail will be facing Al Nassr for Matchday 3 of the AFC Champions League group stage. But just days before the emphatic clash, the Qatari side is reportedly pondering over a shocking decision to sack their current manager, Hernan Crespo. The former Argentinian star was appointed in the summer of 2022 after leaving Sao Paulo.

However, Al Duhail has seen a dip in form, winning just two out of seven games in the month of September, which include matches in the Stars League, the Qatar Cup, and the AFC Champions League. Hence, amidst poor form, the club is reportedly looking to part ways with the former Inter Milan star. In fact, Al Duhail already has a replacement in mind, as they are eyeing former PSG coach Christophe Galtier.

Galtier became available in the job market after PSG terminated his contract following just one season in charge of Les Parisiens. Despite securing the Ligue 1 title, Luis Enrique was brought in as his successor. From the looks of it, Al Duhail is looking to get hold of the Frenchman. Certainly, it would be a bargain for the Doha side to secure the services of the former Nice manager.

As of now, talks to terminate Crespo’s contract are still ongoing. Perhaps we may hear about the news in a few days. Meanwhile, let’s talk about the domestic form of Al Duhail’s Champions League rivals and upcoming opponents, Al Nassr. Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. are already showing signs of optimism this year.
