Wrexham to visit the United States in the 2023 preseason

Wrexham was due to visit the US in the preseason this year. But, as they made it to the play-off semifinal, the tour didn’t go through. Although the playoffs didn’t go as expected, Grimsby Town knocked Wrexham out in the semifinals.

The US tour will be a great opportunity for Wrexham to play some top sides and gain the momentum the owners are looking for to increase their popularity. According to reports, Wrexham will start the tour with a game against Philadelphia Union. They might play the likes of the LA Galaxy, Austin FC, and Inter Miami.

Ryan Reynolds bought the oldest soccer club in Wales

Wrexham is the oldest club in the history of Wales and was formed in 1864. It is also the third oldest soccer team in the world. Currently, Wrexham plays in the National League, which is in the fifth tier of the English soccer system. The club is playing its soccer matches in the Racecourse Stadium since 1864.

The club records 23-time winners of the Welsh Cup. Other major trophies for Wrexham are the Football League Trophy in 2005 and the FA Trophy in 2013. American actor Rob McElhenney and Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds in 2021 took the club over through the RR McReynolds Company LLC.
