Defending Kylian Mbappe, Didier Deschamps Takes a Dig at Luis Enrique After France’s Historic Win – “He Is Perfect”

Kylian Mbappe has once again managed to steal the spotlight with yet another remarkable performance. The Frenchman helped his country clinch a historic win against Gibraltar. While the emphatic win has generated a buzz around the soccer world, it led Didier Deschamps to savor the moment of slamming Luis Enrique, who earlier criticized France’s captain. 

Additionally, with the win, Kylian Mbappe also managed to reach a historic career milestone, which certainly led his national team coach to defend him from his domestic boss.

Earlier, Luis Enrique criticized Kylian Mbappe for putting in a mediocre performance against Reims, despite the fact that he netted a hat trick. The Spanish boss urged the striker to contribute more to the team’s gameplay. While he constructively took that criticism, it certainly didn’t settle with his national team manager, Didier Deschamps. 

Following France’s record 14-0 win against Gibraltar, Deschamps and Mbappe were called for an interview. The 24-year-old was asked if he got congratulations from his coach as he again claimed the match ball. Interestingly, the gaffer was quick to make an unexpected reference to Enrique. He said, “No, I really expect a lot more from him!”, as both Mbappe and Deschamps started laughing. Then he added, “In his role as captain, he is perfect. He is an extraordinary player.”

Earlier, when Deschamps was asked to comment on the former Barcelona manager’s claim, he gave a diplomatic answer in order to avoid controversy.  However, now he managed to fire a taunt over Enrique’s previous comments on Mbappe with a laugh. Subsequently, he again took a dig by heaping praise on his star player.

Be that as it may, it was quite an unexpected yet witty comment from the 2018 World Cup-winning boss in good spirits. Additionally, in this match, Mbappe also managed to reach a historic milestone in his career, but for him, it’s nothing!

Mbappe calls his major 300-goal milestone ‘hilarious’

After yet another hat-trick for his country, Kylian Mbappe managed to achieve a huge milestone in his career. The former Monaco man has now scored 300 goals for both his club and country. Yet, this achievement is nothing for Mbappe, as he claims it is ‘hilarious‘. When asked about his recent achievement, the player insisted that his milestone was part of the process, as he strives to aim for much higher!

Additionally, he added, “300 is just hilarious! I have to keep going and improve for both club and national team”. The Frenchman seems to be brimming with both confidence and optimism, as he is eager to improve for both his club and country.
