In soccer, dribbling is one of the most sought-after skills. When it comes to the artist of this craft, the name Lionel Messi gleams like a guiding star. But in a unique turn of events, England’s captain, Harry Kane, has snubbed the Argentinian maestro in favor of French superstar Kylian Mbappe to be on his ultimate striker list as the best dribbler.

Lionel Messi is usually referred to as the Picasso of dribbling. Whenever in action, it almost feels as if the ball is glued to the Argentinian superstar’s foot. While he has continued to master this skill with brilliance, his efforts still went unnoticed in the eyes of Harry Kane. This comes after the Bayern Munich star recently sat down for a unique segment with ESPN UK. He was asked to build his ultimate striker list.

Interestingly, when asked about the best striker in terms of dribbling, he took the name of Kylian Mbappe without any hesitation. In fact, La Pulga’s name wasn’t even taken once by the former Tottenham man. Notably, for movement, Kane chose Edinson Cavani, while 38-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo was selected in terms of speed.

England icon Peter Crouch made the list for his heading, and Kane took his own name for finishing. Additionally, Chelsea legend Didier Drogba was chosen for strength. Meanwhile, Manchester United icon Wayne Rooney, with whom Kane shared the national locker room, made the list for link-up. Finally, for work rate, the 30-year-old took Jude Bellingham’s name. While it certainly makes the youngster an unconventional choice, given that he plays as a midfielder, his numbers at Real Madrid justify Kane’s answer.

Notably, the hottest prospect, Erling Haaland, was also absent. Be that as it may, it is quite interesting to hear such a list of strikers. Certainly, it came as a shocker to snub Lionel Messi, given that he dreams of playing with him.

I first kicked a soccer ball when I was 12. My early exposure to playing the sport earned me many accolades at the zonal and district levels. I still remember my first goal, where I scored a 90+5 minute header like Sergio Ramos did in the 2014 Champions League final against Atletico Madrid.
