The earthquake in Morocco, a devastating tragedy, left countless people homeless. The rubble stays on top of the houses of most families. News emerged of Cristiano Ronaldo offering his Pestana CR7 hotel to the refugees to seek shelter. While most lauded the player, many reports labeled it as false rumors. Ronaldo did not comment on it, as well as did the hotel authorities. On the other hand, his sister endorsed the news on social media platforms. 

Elma dos Santos Aveiro, sister of Ronaldo, posted an Instagram story following the news to her 645,000 fans. His sisters support his brother very well, and the post showcased summed it up perfectly!

News broke out that his CR7 hotel in Marrakesh, Morocco, offered relief to Moroccan earthquake sufferers to seek shelter. Yet, the news came out fake, following a Spanish tourist’s claims. She stated how she slept on the streets, after which she got a room at the Portuguese soccer star’s hotel. With people applauding the decision, Elma posted an Instagram story in support. The Pestana CR7 hotel authorities also issued a statement

They stated, “This is false information. All the customers we have at the moment have made a reservation normally.” They lay those rumors to rest following the latest reports. The earthquake in Morocco left the country in shock. The death toll climbed to 2,122, with 2,421 reported injuries, according to Reuters. Ronaldo and other soccer stars mourned the tragedy and offered condolences.

Ronaldo’s other sister, Katia Aveiro, was also in Morocco previously. She posted an Instagram story mourning the tragedy of Morocco and shared her personal experience.

Ronaldo’s sister mourned Morocco’s earthquake tragedy

She stated in her Instagram post, “My prayers today are with Morocco and my friends who are there… And to think that a week ago today we were there (God gives us deliverances that we never imagine). May God give strength to all Moroccans. More than 800 dead already.” The Ronaldos vacationed in Morocco last August before the earthquake happened. They posted pictures of their holiday and flew in for Katia’s daughter, Valentina’s christening.

It comes as a tragedy for the country. Hopefully, normalcy restores and Morocco can come back from it.
