Gerard Pique has been actively involved in numerous investments and endeavors since retiring. One of his notable ventures is his ownership of FC Andorra, a soccer club based in the microstate of Andorra. However, Shakira‘s ex has recently faced a significant setback, resulting in his team being forced to leave their country of origin. To add insult to injury, his whopping $4.2 million investment has seemingly gone to waste.

FC Andorra, despite being based in Andorra, for years has been allowed to compete in the Spanish Leagues. Currently, it is competing in the second division, the La Liga 2. However, unforeseen circumstances have compelled Pique to make drastic changes to the club, including its name and even nationality.

The club’s official stadium, the Estadi Nacional, is situated in Andorra, and Pique had spared no expense in ensuring it met the high standards required by La Liga. With an investment of approximately $4.24 million, he expected the stadium to provide a stable foundation for the team’s future endeavors. However, recent reports have revealed that FC Andorra has been barred from continuing to play in this stadium.

This has left the team in a state of disarray. In a public display of frustration, Pique took to X to express his disappointment. He stated, “We have invested more than 4M euros in adapting the National Stadium so that La Liga let us play and now we are out”. He further added, “There is no sports facility in Andorra with the necessary conditions to allow us to compete next year”.

“Thank you for expelling us from the country,” taunted the Barcelona legend. “We have no other solution but to leave and change the name of the club. Congratulations, you have left Andorra without professional soccer,” concluded a frustrated Pique. This sudden turn of events has undoubtedly caught Pique off guard. This could also be the reason why he was forced to break his agreement with ex-Shakira a few days ago.

Pique breached an agreement with ex-Shakira

Gerard Pique past Friday made a trip to Miami in fulfillment of the custody agreement and to spend time with his children. However, he unexpectedly returned to Barcelona after just three days. Journalist Lorena Vazquez expressed concerns about Pique’s compliance with the custody arrangement with Shakira.

The journalist questioned why he did not stay for the full 10-day period as specified in the agreement. The reason for Pique’s early departure from Miami has not been disclosed but it won’t be too far-fetched to speculate a connection to the situation involving his soccer club FC Andorra.
