Jordan Henderson is in the headlines for obvious reasons. The England international’s domestic future with Al Ettifaq has become the subject of speculation. Although the reports of the midfielder leaving the Saudi Pro League side were put to bed, Al Ettifaq has been secretly keeping tabs on one of the Al Nassr teammates of Cristiano Ronaldo. As per the reports from renowned soccer analyst Ben Jacobs, the club executives are exploring ways to bring Seko Fofana on loan.

The Al Nassr midfielder is viewed as the perfect man to replace Jordan Henderson if the former Liverpool man ever decides to leave. However, it’s unlikely that Steven Gerrard and Co. will be able to bring Seko Fofana to the City of Dammam, as a transfer or even a loan deal might be difficult to pursue

Notably, Fofana has already been linked with an exit in the past. The 28-year-old was looking to part ways with Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. But he quickly took a U-turn and refuted the claims of leaving. Likewise, Jordan Henderson was also rumored to make a return to the Premier League, with Newcastle United, Ajax, and Leverkusen interested in acquiring his services. Jacob reports that Hendo has a meeting with his club regarding his future.

However, renowned Saudi journalist Nawaf Al-Aqeel recently refuted Henderson’s exit and boldly asserted that he plays a crucial role in Al Ettifaq. Additionally, Faris Ad-Dahna has even set the asking price of over $13 million to even think about letting Henderson go. Either way, it’s unlikely that Al Nassr will hand over Fofana to Al Ettifaq, as they have other plans with the midfielder. Let’s dive deeper.

According to recent reports, Moteb Al-Harbi is being sought after by the Knights of Najd from Al Shabab. They are prepared to loan out Seko Fofana, who is not in favor right now, in exchange for a $10.6 million fee. Fofana’s pay will be covered by Al Nassr during the loan duration as well. Al-Harbi has played over 90 games for Al Shabab.

One take at a time

I first kicked a soccer ball when I was 12. My early exposure to playing the sport earned me many accolades at the zonal and district levels. I still remember my first goal, where I scored a 90+5 minute header like Sergio Ramos did in the 2014 Champions League final against Atletico Madrid.
